We’ve partnered with IDC to deliver a detailed analysis of mobile’s increasingly central place in the gaming industry
2020 is set to be a blockbuster year for mobile gaming and mobile overall — including record levels of apps downloads and consumer spend across the app stores — as people increasingly turn to mobile as a primary source of connection and entertainment.
We wanted to take a closer look at the trends happening in this rapidly growing space. That’s why, working in partnership with premier global market intelligence firm IDC, we launched a new report to identify emerging directions in gaming.
Our new report illustrates that while mobile gaming first overtook both home game consoles and PC and Mac gaming for consumer spend in 2014, mobile gaming’s lead has widened dramatically since then. In 2020, mobile game spending is set to extend its lead to more than 2.8x over desktop gaming and 3.1x more than home game consoles. Mobile, clearly, is in a league of its own.
In addition to further insights on consumer spend trends, the report covers a wide-range of must-read topics for anyone in the gaming industry.
