The third installment of the popular Candy Crush series game saw gains in sessions duration from introducing real time versus mode into the franchise

A Match 3 Saga game, according to App Annie’s Game IQ, published by King under Activision Blizzard, Candy Crush Jelly Saga has surpassed the major milestone of seeing over $500 million spent by players in its mobile game across the world in just 6 years. The game first launched in 2015, and the top markets by consumer spend include the US, UK, Japan, Germany and France.

Candy Crush Jelly Saga builds on the candy-themed match-three puzzle gameplay of its popular predecessor Candy Crush Saga. The third installment in the series introduced a number of new features to boost engagement, such as head-to-head battles against a computer-controlled opponent which further motivates players to improve and progress. The new competitive gameplay element paved the way for the game’s real time multiplayer mode ‘Royal Championship’, which was first rolled out in 2019. In fact, compared against its predecessor, Candy Crush Saga, Candy Crush Jelly Saga was the only one in the series to offer PVP - Synchronous PV and Matchmaking - Open, Tiered PVP Social features, which can be an effective way to boost in-game engagement. Player versus Player slots into the always-on, always-mobile nature of mobile gaming and can help families and friends stay connected through games.
